Mill City Farmers Market

We had a good excuse to go to the Mill City Farmer's Market as today was the 2nd Tuesday of the month, and therefore our 2nd Meat pick up. In addition to our standard fare of two pounds of ground beef, a whole chicken and a dozen eggs we get montly we also were supplied with stew meat, kabob meat and two ribeye steaks. I can't wait to try the ribeyes as the pork chops we got last month were incredible.

1st day of the market

Today was also the first day of the market season so it was reasonably busy. Since Mill city market focuses on local and sustainable agriculture there wasn't much to be had in the way of vegetables. But there were lots of local artist, clothing makers and jewlery designers to keep us occupied.

1st day of the market

Not to mention delicious pastries at every turn:

We did manage to get our hands on some ramps, fiddleheads ferns, asparagus and rhubarb (after waiting in line for 10 minutes to visit one of the only vendors to be selling produce this time of the year). The same vendor sold the last of their morels to the people 2 spots ahead of us in line. Next week we'll start shopping earlier

We bought some bread that looked pretty hardy (and delicious)
