Kyle and I just moved in... to this old minneapolis house part deaux . Here's a picture of the living room floor between carpet and the shape its in right now... sadly, this is soft wood that MIGHT be okay to refinish, but there is some scary asbestos tiling tht we can't get up... you know what that means... the feared and dreaded..CARPET!

Ha! This is so funny.... now I found your blog after you left a comment on mine! This picture looks SO familiar. We're having a big painting weekend this weekend, but we'll be removing old carpet before too long here. (My father in law pulled up some of the old stuff upstairs and the padding underneath had disintegrated so badly that it was like dust. That's going to be fun.) We're having the same fears about asbestos, lead, contaminates in old houses in general. I'm going to be blogging more about it, but I'm definitely going to be watching how you guys deal with everything! So excited that there's someone else out there in a similar situation.
